I wanted to share a small window into Chassitty "Chas" and into our relationship by posting some of her communications while we're away.
On my first day of school for the LGO program (June, 2009), she sent me this video message via OoVoo (I apologize for the Seattle glare!):

The first song excerpt is the theme song to the show "Gilmore Girls" (Official Link), a show we've been watching since she was a baby and a show whose characters (Lorelai and Rory) we relate to.
The second song referenced is "Te Quiero Tanto" by Onda Vaselina and is a song I sang to my daughter when she was a baby. As she got older, I stopped singing the song, but one day, she heard it on TV, connected the memory, and we've sung it together for fun since then.

That is very sweet, thanks for sharing! We are considering the cruise too. If you ever have a day (like today) where you expect to be out until 7 or 8 and want somewhere for her to go, we can help out!

ReplyDeleteI happened to come across your blog as I was trying to research about the LGO program since I am going to apply within couple of days. I must say this post was the most touching post I have read in days. I remembered when I moved out of home and how I used to write to my mom. I also was back in my childhood when my mom had to be out for few days while she was pursuing her third professional degree. I was 9 then and was (and still am)very proud of her since pursuing education after marriage and kids was not a very regular phenomena in India those days.
So I just wanted to say thank you for sharing such a beautiful post which revived so many memories for me.
